About

CMC:Foundation for Change is pleased to announce a 2-day professional training in the Invitation to Change Approach, a practical, evidence-based framework that draws on CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), MI (Motivational Interviewing), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to provide a compassionate and collaborative way of working with the families and concerned significant others of clients who struggle with substance use.

Through a series of didactic and experiential exercises, participants will gain key insights into the motivations behind compulsive behaviors and the change process, as well as evidence-based behavioral and communications strategies that can be used with both significant others and those directly struggling. Clinicians trained in this approach will find themselves with new tools to provide support and engender hope in the families of those struggling with substances, as well as the ability to share practical skills with these families that will help them collaboratively work towards change with their loved one.
