Sky Kershner, is the Executive Director of the KPCC Counseling in Charleston, WV, and holds the rank of Assistant Professor at WVU School of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Medicine, Charleston Division, where he teaches Psychodynamics.
Sky has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andover-Newton Theological School in Boston and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York City. Sky moved here from New York 28 years ago, and has made a home here with his wife, two teens, and a little dog.
Sky has received several awards for his professional work, including the WV Civil Rights Award. Sky is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, of which there are three in the state. In 2010, Sky appeared as a guest therapist on the Discovery Studios show “Hoarders.”
Sky is also the Pastor of the Unity Church on Bridge Road here in Charleston, where mindfulness and present moment practices are a regular part of the Sunday Service.
