Sky has a Doctor of Ministry degree as well as a Masters in Clinical Social Work.\u00a0<\/p><p>Now in semi-retirement, Sky continues to teach and serves in a small practice in Charleston. Sky is a Member of MINT, the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, and has trained over 5000 professionals in WV in Motivational Interviewing.<\/p><p>Sky is a certified ICISF instructor and has served onsite and debriefed teams at a number of WV Critical Incident events, including the 2010 Upper Big Branch mine disaster, and the 2012 fire on Arlington Avenue that took the lives of six children and two adults.\u00a0<\/p><p>Sky has received several awards for his professional work, including the WV Civil Rights Award and WV Counselor of the Year. Sky\u2019s biggest \u201c15 minutes of fame\u201d moment is that he once appeared as a guest therapist on the Discovery Studios show \u201cHoarders.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Sky is the Pastor at the Unity Church in Charleston. Sky is a contributing author for the book \u201cACT Therapy for Pastoral Counselors,\u201d edited by Steven Hayes.\u00a0<\/p><p>Sky grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania, trained and practiced in New York City, before making West Virginia his home over thirty years ago.
