Judy Moffitt serves as the New York State Regional Leader for CMC: Foundation for Change, representing Upstate New York. In this role, she focuses on promoting the Invitation to Change (ITC) Approach and advancing the organization’s mission to bring evidence-based, compassionate support to families and communities impacted by substance use—especially in rural areas.

A facilitator of ITC groups for families and educators for the past four years—and a mother of a son who struggles with substance use—Judy has seen firsthand the profound impact the ITC approach can have on families and their support networks.

Drawing from her background as a retired high school chemistry teacher, recovery coach, and advocate, Judy blends her professional experience and personal journey to expand access to support and understanding. Her work is driven by a profound belief in the power of compassion to change lives — not just for the person struggling, but for everyone who loves and supports them.

She is deeply committed to ensuring that no family faces this journey alone but rather feels seen, supported and equipped to be effective helpers of change.
