Trainer
Dr. Mike Tamburino is a clinical psychologist, licensed in both New York and Florida, with over fifteen years of experience. He received his graduate training in clinical psychology at New York University and St. John’s University and completed his APA-accredited internship at NorthCentral Bronx Hospital, where he focused on helping adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
Dr. Tamburino has received specialized training in empirically supported treatments for PTSD and substance use disorders, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR). He is currently located in Tampa, FL and maintains a private practice in both New York and Florida. Dr. Tamburino is also a preferred provider for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
Dr. Tamburino’s therapeutic style is warm and personable, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and object relations theory to effectively support and guide clients in their work. He also has a special passion for working with trauma survivors and those struggling with substance use and compulsive behaviors. Whether as a therapist or a trainer, Dr. Tamburino strives to create a supportive environment where everyone can work towards learning, growth, and healing.
When Dr. Tamburino isn’t working, he likes to annoy his wife and six-year-old daughter with his incessant guitar playing. He loves music, travel, and his family.
