The Berkshire Taconic

- Support Group -

A community that welcomes the family and friends of those struggling with substance use issues.

Learn how to encourage change for you and your loved one, in a place of openness and support.

Our Group

The Invitation to Change Support Group is a weekly online meeting.

It was founded by Dr. Jeff Foote, a substance use clinician with decades of experience who lives and works in the Berkshires.

Meetings are led by Jeff and two experienced parent volunteers who work to encourage positive discussion and a continued sense of community.

Our Approach

Our group uses the skills and ways of thinking presented in The Invitation to Change Approach® as the basis for our discussions.

This approach is based in compassion, connection, and the belief that you can do something to help your loved one, without pulling away or letting them ‘hit bottom’ first.

This way of discussing substance use is just one way of looking at things, and you may have encountered some very different ways of talking about it in the past.

We welcome you to look through the readings and videos below to get a sense of how we talk about things and to decide if it’s right for you.
